Abrasive Wheels

This course is for anyone who works with abrasive wheels or requires knowledge of the regulations concerning their use in the workplace.

Duration: ½ day

Aims and objectives

The objective of the course is to enable Delegates to understand their responsibilities regarding the Provision & Use Of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and how it relates to the safe mounting of abrasive wheels. Including:

Legal requirements and responsibilities
Nature of hazards and identification of causes
Safe work area
Selection of correct machinery and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Method of marking, storing, handling and transporting
Storage, checking and use of discs
Machine checks
Mounting and dressing
